We must stop attacking people burdened by the problem of obesity. But we must NOT stop attacking the problem of obesity.
This is one of those articles that makes you think.
I am doubly blessed to be a Crohn' sufferer who is on the fluffy side. So I have all the joy of malabsorbtion of nutrients, anemia, etc. but none of the nice skinny side effects. When I was the most ill with Crohn's I lost a lot of weight but prednisone put it right back on my as I recovered.
I do believe in body acceptance. Life is too short to be down on yourself for whatever size you are. I get very worried that the war on obesity in the US is becoming a war on the obese in the US. Its harder to get a job, people judge you, and that sucks.
So lets listen to Dr. Katz and make sure that we hate the "fat problem" and not the fat person. Yes, not the politically correct way to say it but there you go.
