Remember last year when Centocor donated $10,000 to the CCFA for every touchdown scored by David Garrard? Well, they're doing it again this year. Here is a quote from the press release:
Centocor Ortho Biotech Inc. announced today that the In the Zone for Crohn's program with David Garrard, quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars((R))(1) will continue this football season to raise awareness and provide funding for Crohn's disease research, education and support. Building on the success of last year's program, which raised $170,000 for the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA), Centocor Ortho Biotech will again make a donation of $10,000 to the CCFA for each touchdown Garrard scores, passing or rushing, during the 2009 NFL season.
I had a nice email telling me about this year's fundraising from Craig, at Johnson and Johnson, which is the parent company of Centocor. Nice guy. I know that a lot of people do get relief from their product Remicade. And its great of them to fund research to help cure Crohn's. I mean really, once we have a cure (hope, hope) they won't be selling their product as much and I think that would be a good thing.
I love me some David Garrard. He's so
cute, and a really nice role model. It's refreshing to see a football
star who claims his mom as an influence and doesn't make headlines for shooting
himself in the butt or beating up dogs, if you know what I mean. Hope
Jacksonville does a bit better this year.
Did you read how I actually went on ebay and bought a signed rookie card?
Yeah, I am silly. Here is the scoreboard so far, no money yet. Let's all root for Jacksonville! Especially when David throws the touchdowns.
