Trying Vitimin D3 Supplement

Due to the new research saying Crohn's may be related to vitamin D deficiency, and that D3 is the most absorbable form of supplement, I decided to try it.  I am taking 2000 IU a day.  I've been taking it for 4 days so far - I'll let you know how it goes.

Over the Counter Medications Will No Longer be FSA Eligible in 2011

under the new law, these over-the-counter drugs would no longer be eligible FSA expenses after this year.

I take full advantage of my Flexible Spending Medical plan, using it to cover over the counter medications like Tylenol Arthritis, Prilosec, and even Goodnights sleep pants for my 6 year old.

The newly passed Health Care reform package will change some of the details of what is FSA elibable in 2011. Over the counter medications will no longer be covered. So be aware and when you do next year's benefits enrollment make sure to take this into account in your calcuations.

Those of my readers who have been with me over the past year know how important I feel this bill is. It's not complete - I think that as long as any citizen is not covered by affordable health insurance something will be missing.

But for people with Crohn's as well as everyone with every other kind of condition and disease, the banishment of the prexisting condition clause in health insurance plans is a very important element of having security in our lives. The fear of having to lose coverage and become destitute with medical bills is a real one when you have a disease where a flare that causes a one week hospitalization can run in the tens of thousands of dollars.

My own mother in law does not have coverage but by the time the new plans are available to her she will finally be eligible for Medicare. My Mom and Dad get hit hard by the Medicate "Donut Hole" every hear and they will be very glad for the measures of the bill that start to close that gap.

Obama has a less that 50% approval rate right now, and even though I am a big supporter of his, I too have some feeling of disappointment in some of what he has done (and not done) since being elected. Now is his chance to get on with it. Finish the work that needs to be done regarding job creation and spurring American companies towards innovation.

And may the two parties so bitterly divided please be able to work together to get our economy, medical and otherwise, going strong again.

YOU KNOW YOUR TOUCH RELEASED THE PAGAN FANTASY IN A LOVER’S SOUL.

Last week's episode of House completely cracked me up.  First of all, the episode is about a blogger, and my husband enjoyed teasing me about all the goofy stuff she and her friends were doing.  (Like her friend visits her in the hospital and she says "I'm blogging" and the friends says "I'm reading her blog.")  Too funny.

I had to swear to hubby that I do not blog about stuff he says or anything we ever fight about. 

But the funniest part of the show was how House discovers that Wilson was in a porno movie in college.  So freakin funny because he is running around in antlers and some of the lines from the movie are just classic - "Be Not Afraid!"

Public Service Announcement: If you have Crohn's it's probably not a good idea to eat pickles with orange juice. Just sayin'.
