After having an ileostomy Lisa Becker had trouble adjusting and hated the medical underwear available at the time. She decided to do something about it, and with a friend designed a line of attractive supportive underwear with pockets to securely hold the ostomy bag.

Now, her company ostoMYsecrects is a successful web based enterprise that sells everything from peek a boo thongs, to swim wraps in addition to the basic underwear for men and women.

Every employee of the company has some type of ostomy. I love that! I love Lisa's story and the products look really cute and comfortable. Cheers to their success story.

Researchers were surprised to note just how many people with IBD soldiered in to work, despite feeling ill (80%).

Catharine Hinton has blogged about a report published by Crohn's and Colitis UK about work and career issues faced by people with IBD. As a full time worker this is of particular interest to me.

Considering I am wrestling with guilt over taking a sick day today, this hit home pretty well. I don't know why they would be surprised that 80% of IBD workers went to work despite feeling ill. If you feel bad a lot of the time you have to have a pretty high level of coping skills to be still working. Coping skills - we have them in spades.
